BHOPAL: In a shocking incident in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, India, a married man raped a young salesgirl after luring her inside his house on the pretext of buying products.
The victim, identified as Kavya, was working for a private company and was going door-to-door to sell products.
According to her statement to the Bhopal police, she reached the house of a man named Debashish during her sales campaign.
Debashish tricked her by saying that his wife was interested in the products and knew more about them, and invited her inside to speak with his wife.
As soon as Kavya entered the house, the accused quickly locked the door from inside, overpowered her, and raped her against her will.
Kavya told the police that after committing the rape, Debashish also tried to make a nude video of her, but she managed to escape by hitting him on the head with an object and fleeing from the spot.
The police have registered a case based on the victim’s statement and medical examination.
The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
The accused, Debashish, told the police that his wife had been angry with him and had gone to her parents’ home two months ago.
Despite his repeated efforts, she was not willing to return.
He claimed that due to her prolonged absence, he became unable to control his physical desires.
As a result, he made Kavya a victim of his lust.
