QUETTA: The Balochistan region has once again come into the spotlight not for progress or prosperity, but due to a wave of anti-state narratives propagated under the guise of activism. In this activism campaign, where Mahrang Baloch, a prominent member and leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), whose actions have sparked nationwide debate regarding the real motives behind her rhetoric.
Furthermore, Mahrang and her supporters claim to champion human rights and justice, critics argue that her approach not only sows division but dangerously aligns with anti-state agendas.
It is crucial to note that the BLA has been declared a terrorist outfit by the government, the United Nations, and several other international bodies. The group has been involved in countless acts of violence, sabotage, and destruction, harming not only state infrastructure but also innocent civilians.
In this context, critics question the role of Mahrang Baloch and BYC, alleging that their consistent efforts to provoke and mobilize the public against the state only serve to advance narratives hostile to national unity.
In addition, nstead of contributing constructively to the upliftment of Balochistan, her activism, as claimed by many, seems to echo the propaganda of hostile elements rather than reflecting genuine community service.
