Maharang Baloch’s BYC always chooses silence when innocents die: Abdullah Khan

QUETTA: Senior analyst Abdullah Khan has strongly criticised the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) for remaining silent on the attack on innocent children in Khuzdar.

He said this silence is part of a consistent pattern in BYC’s behaviour.

Speaking at the Burak Digital podcast, Abdullah Khan said that BYC often stays quiet when incidents in Balochistan do not align with its narrative. “Even in the Khuzdar incident, where innocent civilians were killed, BYC hasn’t issued a statement. At the very least, they should condemn the attack,” he remarked.

He pointed out that whenever a tragic event occurs involving civilians not linked to separatist groups, BYC avoids comment. “Last year in Musa Khel, BLA militants killed nearly 50 civilians. BYC remained silent for three to four days. Only after immense pressure did a weak statement come from Maorang Baloch,” Khan recalled.

He further alleged that BYC refuses to condemn groups like BLA, BLF, and BRA. “It’s as if they’ve sworn never to criticize them,” he said. “Even now, they haven’t condemned the Khuzdar tragedy, despite children being among the victims.”

Khan revealed heartbreaking details. “One man lost two children. A third is on a ventilator. The entire family is shattered. Yet BYC says nothing,” he said.

He concluded with a pointed question: “Which human rights does BYC advocate for? Because their silence raises serious doubts about their moral stance.
