LOWER DIR: Tribes living in the Pak-Afghan border area of Lower Dir have announced their determination to take up arms against Khawarij terrorists operating in the region and to expel them along with their facilitators.
As per the official sources, tribes of Maskini Darra, located along the Pak-Afghan frontier, have unanimously decided not to allow the presence of Khawarij in their territories.
The tribal jirga declared that any attempt by these elements to carry out subversive activities would result in the confiscation of their properties and the expulsion of their families from the area.
The jirga further resolved to form armed vigil groups to defend their communities and to conduct night patrols to prevent militant movement.
This collective stand marks a crucial local initiative to support ongoing security operations in the region.
In this regard, the decision comes a day after security sources revealed that the so-called Khawarij militant elements living among civilian populations in Bajaur were involved in terrorist and criminal activities.
Firstly, the tribes were urged to expel these militants, most of whom are reportedly Afghan nationals. Secondly, if the tribes were unable to remove them directly, they were asked to temporarily vacate the area for one or two days to allow security forces to take decisive action against the militants.
Thirdly, the authorities focused on the importance of minimizing collateral damage during such operations.
This latest tribal commitment indicates growing community resolve in the border regions to safeguard local peace and stability.
