LORALAI: In a series of targeted operations, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) in Loralai has achieved significant success, apprehending five suspected criminals and seizing a cache of illegal weapons, including a machine gun. The crackdown was conducted under the direct directives of DIG Loralai Range Junaid Ahmed Shaikh and SSP Malik Muhammad Asghar.
The operations were meticulously supervised by SDPO Kareem Mandokhail and led on the ground by CIA In-Charge Sub-Inspector Mumtaz Ahmed. His team, which included ASI Gul Noor and other officers, executed the plans that led to the multiple arrests.
A key breakthrough in the operation was the capture of Sarfaraz, son of Muhammad Asif, who was identified as a wanted fugitive. Police confirmed that he was actively sought in connection with a murder case (FIR No. 368/022) registered at Karachi’s Aziz Bhatti Police Station. Following his arrest in Loralai, he was formally taken into custody to face the charges.
In a separate but simultaneous action, City Police Station SHO Inspector Humayun Nasir recovered another pistol and arrested a proclaimed offender identified as Abdul Hafeez, son of Abdul Waseh. The recovery of four pistols and one machine gun from the suspects underscores the scale of the illicit arms trade being targeted by the police.
A police spokesperson confirmed that cases have been formally registered against all the arrested individuals under the stringent Balochistan Arms Act. The spokesperson further emphasized that these operations are part of a sustained campaign, and the crackdown against criminal elements, illegal weapons, and wanted fugitives will continue throughout the district without any interruption.
In a separate move move towards modernizing its fiscal policies, the Government of Balochistan has initiated a formal process to integrate Climate Budget Tagging (CBT) and Gender Budget Tagging (GBT) into its financial systems. The step is aimed at ensuring that public funds are allocated and tracked in a manner that addresses environmental challenges and promotes gender equality.
The initiative was advanced during a detailed meeting between a high-level delegation from the Balochistan Finance Department and a team from the Research and Development Solutions (REMIT) consultancy. The provincial delegation was led by Special Secretary Finance, Muhammad Jahangir Kakar, while the REMIT team was headed by its Macro-Economy Lead, Musharraf Rasool Siyan, and former Additional Secretary of the Finance Division, Tanzeer Butt.
