QUETTA: One Levies Force official was martyred and two bandits were injured during a major police operation in the Khatin area of Bolan on Thursday. The Balochistan government has vowed to continue its crackdown on criminal gangs across the province.
The operation was launched to target the notorious Shafu gang. According to Deputy Commissioner Jumma Dad Mandokhail, who supervised the action, the outlaws opened fire on the security forces. The gunfire critically injured Levies official Muhammad Mohsin, who later died in the hospital.
Security forces returned fire, injuring two of the bandits. The gunfight was still ongoing when the initial report was filed. During the operation, several hideouts used by the gang were also set on fire.
In response, the Balochistan government paid tribute to the martyred official, Mohsin Ali Awan. The provincial Home Department issued a statement saying that Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has ordered continuous and indiscriminate action against all criminal groups.

The government stated that protecting citizens is its top priority and promised that the sacrifices of security personnel would not be wasted. It confirmed that joint operations by the Levies and other agencies are underway to eliminate gangs involved in highway robberies. The crackdown will continue until peace is fully restored in the province.
