Levies Force cracks down on drug trafficking in Luni

LUNI: The Levies Force in Balochistan has carried out a targeted operation, located in Luni, as part of an ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, illegal water extraction and poppy cultivation.

The action was taken following credible information about illegal activities taking place in the remote area. Furthermore, the Levies personnel reached the site early in the morning and secured the location without resistance.

During the operation, they discovered equipment allegedly being used to support poppy cultivation and other unauthorized practices.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Duki stated that the administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward activities that contribute to drug production or environmental damage.

He focused on the fact that strict legal measures will follow against individuals found involved in the operation.

“We will ensure that the names of those responsible are placed on the Fourth Schedule, and the land used for these illegal activities will be confiscated,” he said.

Moreover, the Deputy Commissioner added that coordinated efforts between Levies, district administration and other law-enforcement agencies will continue in order to eliminate such practices.

He reasserted the government’s commitment to protecting local communities, safeguarding natural resources and curbing drug-related activities.

The district administration confirmed that further investigations are underway to identify additional individuals or groups who may be connected to the illegal setup.

The successful operation indicates the government’s continued focus on strengthening border security, enforcing legal regulations and promoting stability across Balochistan.
