QUETTA: The Balochistan government has launched ‘Let’s Make Quetta Green’ tree plantation drive under Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti’s “Green Vision.” The goal is to turn barren mountains green.
In the first phase, workers planted 4,000 saplings on mountain slopes to start ‘Let’s Make Quetta Green’. To protect them, the government installed water tanks, pipelines, and a drip irrigation system.
In the second phase, from July 15 to August 15, workers planted 8,000 saplings on Sleeping Beauty Mountain.
In the next phase, the government will plant fruit-bearing trees on 49 acres of Hanna West Mountain through a public-private partnership.
