KARACHI: Pakistan cricketer Salman Ali Agha said he is enjoying playing in the Pakistan Super League as a regular player, adding that he is learning from David Warner at Karachi Kings.
In an interview, Agha said he feels less pressure without captaincy responsibilities. He said leadership adds extra burden, which is absent in the PSL. He added that this allows him to try things he cannot attempt as a captain.
Agha praised Karachi Kings captain Warner. He called him a legend with strong performances in international and franchise cricket. He said he is gaining valuable experience by playing alongside him.
He said Karachi Kings formed a strong combination early in the tournament. He described team balance as crucial for success. He added that the team has performed well since the first match and aims to maintain momentum.
Speaking about a thrilling match against Lahore Qalandars, Agha said he never felt the target was out of reach. He said the team has a strong batting lineup with several hard hitters. He added that this confidence helped secure the win.
On his personal performance, Agha said he made a good start in the opening match but failed to convert it into a big innings. He said the tournament is still in its early stages. He added that his form is decent but he needs to play longer innings. He said he aims to improve in upcoming matches.
Agha also said that as a national captain, he closely observes other players’ performances. He said he pays attention to both skill and attitude, whether watching bowlers or batters during Pakistan Super League matches.
