Launch of Encyclopaedia Balochistanica announced

QUETTA: The Baloch Academy has announced the launch of Encyclopedia Balochistanica, a scholarly project aimed at preserving the history, language, literature, geography, and heritage of Balochistan.

The encyclopaedia will primarily be published in English, while articles written in Balochi, Urdu, and Persian will also be included.

To oversee the project, a five-member board has been formed under the leadership of Project Director Habitan Umar and Chief Editor Dr. Naseer Dashti.

More than one hundred national and international researchers are expected to contribute articles on a wide range of topics.

According to experts, this encyclopaedia will play a vital role in highlighting the intellectual and cultural identity of Balochistan to the world.

Officials further noted that the encyclopaedia will serve as a comprehensive reference source for scholars, students, and policymakers.

It is also expected to promote cultural awareness, preserve indigenous knowledge, and strengthen Balochistan’s representation in global academic circles, making it a landmark contribution to regional and international literature.
