Landslide in Daki coal mine claims three miners’ lives

QUETTA: At least three miners were killed and one was seriously injured in a landslide in a coal mine in Daki district of Balochistan.

According to details, one miner was rescued alive by the Mines rescue staff. The affected coal mine was sealed and an investigation was ordered.

While talking to local media, Chief Mines Inspector Abdul Ghani Baloch said that four miners were trapped inside the mine due to a landslide in a private coal mine in Daki. Mines rescue staff rescued one miner alive, but three miners died. The bodies of the deceased miners were removed from the mine and shifted to the hospital for medical examination. Chief Mines Inspector Abdul Ghani said that the accident-hit coal mine was sealed.

A court of inquiry has been formed to investigate the incident.
