SHERANI: The major landslide struck the Danasar area early Saturday morning, completely blocking the main road and disrupting all forms of traffic movement in the region.
The incident occurred following overnight rainfall that loosened the soil along the hilly terrain, causing a vital portion of earth and debris to collapse onto the roadway.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. In this regard, the National Highway Authority’s representatives, local police, and the District Administration Shirani have launched an emergency operation to clear the debris and restore traffic flow as soon as possible.
Furthermore, District officials mentioned that all available resources are being utilized to manage the situation efficiently.
Meanwhile, the administration has assured residents that safety assessments of nearby slopes are being conducted to prevent further incidents.

The emergency response teams remain on alert, and continuous monitoring of the site is underway. The Shirani district administration focused that public safety remains its top priority and requested citizens to remain patient and vigilant.
Moreover, the landslide has once again mentioned the region’s vulnerability to such natural occurrences, particularly during periods of heavy rain. In addition, the experts suggest that long-term preventive measures, including slope stabilization and regular monitoring, are essential to reduce future risks.
