LAKKI MARWAT: Lakki Marwat Police’s Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) unit on Monday foiled a major terror plot by timely defusing a huge explosive device.
Acting on a tip-off, officers from Lakki City Police Station, under the direction of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Jawad Ishaq, conducted an operation in the vicinity of the Machan Khel area of Lakki Marwat City. The police cordoned off the area and called in BDS experts.
During the operation, the BDS unit recovered an 18-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a dirt path in the area. The IED, expertly buried underground, was defused with precision, preventing a possible large-scale tragedy.

According to police, the explosive was intended to target security forces.
