Lakki Marwat: One killed in IED blast targeting Bettani Qaumi Tehreek Chairman’s vehicle; three terrorists killed in retaliation

LAKKI MARWAT:  At least one person killed and three others injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion targeting the Bettani Qaumi Tehreek chairman, Inamullah’s vehicle on the Tejuri Road in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening. The political leader survived the attack. Three terrorists were reportedly killed in retaliatory action by Inamullah’s convoy.

According to Khanzala Qureshi, spokesperson for the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Bannu region, told Dawn.com that Inamullah was returning from a weekly protest for peace from the Pul Ahmadzai area when his vehicle hit an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on the Tejuri Road, however Inamullah survived the attack.

Qureshi confirmed that one person was killed and three others were injured in the terror incident, adding that three terrorists were also killed in the retaliatory firing by Inamullah’s guards.

He further said that a police team has left for the scene and a detailed report will be provided later, however, according to initial reports, one person has been killed and three others have been injured in the IED explosion.

Inamullah has also shared a video from the scene in which the sounds of gunfire can be heard, he is appealing to the public to come out of their homes, and he says that he has killed three terrorists.
