KP schools on High Alert after Khuzdar attack

PESHAWAR: Following the terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has issued a comprehensive advisory to enhance security across all schools in the province.

Special Secretary for Education, Qaisar Alam, stated that all District Education Officers (DEOs) and school heads have been directed to conduct immediate security surveys and develop thorough security plans in coordination with district administrations.

The advisory includes strict instructions to establish effective monitoring at school entry and exit points, deploy trained security guards, and ensure installation of CCTV cameras.

Schools are also advised to implement emergency alert systems and exit plans for quick response to any incident.

Additionally, awareness sessions for students will be held to educate them on safety protocols.

Qaisar Alam affirmed that all resources will be utilized to ensure school security, and the plans will be implemented in collaboration with police and district authorities to provide a safe environment for students and teachers.

It is worth mentioning that a school van was targeted with a bomb by militants in the Balochistan’s city of Khuzdar earlier on Wednesday’s morning.

The horrible militant attack led to the deaths of three students and three other civilians.
