ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday approved the transfer of bulletproof vehicles to the Balochistan government after Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti requested that the vehicles—returned earlier by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government—be handed over to Balochistan.
Responding to CM Bugti’s post on social media platform X, Minister Naqvi said CM Sahib done. He announced that the bulletproof vehicles would be dispatched to Balochistan immediately.
“These bulletproof vehicles will be sent to Balochistan immediately to enhance counter terrorism efforts,” he said in his tweet. He also thanked Chief Minister Sarfarz Bugti for raising this issue.
“Since the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister has declined to use them, I have decided to send the vehicles to Balochistan,” he said.

Naqvi added that providing these vehicles would strengthen Balochistan’s counterterrorism operations and enhance the safety of personnel engaged in anti-terror efforts.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti had written on X that “Balochistan, like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is also affected by terrorism. If KP does not need the vehicles, they should be transferred to Balochistan.”
Following the public exchange, the Interior Minister promptly directed authorities to ensure the bulletproof vehicles are sent to Balochistan without delay.
Earlier, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry strongly criticised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government’s decision to return bulletproof vehicles supplied by the federal government, terming the move “immature” and a setback in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
The minister said that the bulletproof vehicles were provided to the Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to increase the operational capacity of police officers and personnel engaged in anti-terrorism duties.
