PESHAWAR: Terrorist attacks involving several armed combatants with the Fitna Al Khawarij were repulsed when police stations were attacked in Bajaur and Bannu districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, two police stations— Loi Mamund in Bajaur and Miryan in Bannu— were targeted by the Khawarij militants on last night. The police bravely repelled the attacks.
According to details, at approximately 11:45 PM last night, terrorists launched a heavy assault on PS Loi Mamund using grenade launchers, SMGs, RPGs, and hand grenades. The police responded bravely, stood their ground, and retaliated effectively.
Four officers — SHO Fazal Khan, Constable Torsam, Constable Shakir, and Hasan Khan — sustained minor injuries from a hand grenade but continued to fight. Reports indicate that several terrorists were also injured during the exchange.
Similarly, late last night, the Miryan Police Station in Bannu district was also attacked by the Khawarij militants. The stationed officers fought back valiantly for over 50 minutes and successfully repelled the assault. There were no casualties in this attack.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed praised the courage and steadfastness of the officers deployed at both stations.
He announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for the teams and reaffirmed that the Khawarij militants will be pursued to their final end.
He asserted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police will once again eliminate terrorism and will not allow these terrorists to achieve their malicious objectives.
