PESHAWAR: The Special Security Committee Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly held a marathon session that lasted nearly seven hours, focusing on a detailed review of the province’s overall security situation.
The meeting brought together representatives of various law enforcement and intelligence agencies, who discussed coordination mechanisms and the need for enhanced inter-agency cooperation to strengthen peace and stability across the province.
The KP Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati focused on that the committee’s primary goal is to establish sustainable peace in the province, ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, and resolve issues through mutual understanding and dialogue.
He stated that maintaining law and order is a shared responsibility and that political unity is essential for lasting stability.
“The province’s political leadership stands united on one platform for peace and stability,” the Speaker affirmed. “Our joint efforts with law enforcement agencies will ensure that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa can live in a secure environment.”
Furthermore, the committee members reiterated their commitment to supporting all security institutions in maintaining peace and combating threats to public safety.
They acknowledged the sacrifices of security personnel and pledged continued cooperation to eliminate terrorism and criminal activities.
Moreover, the meeting further discussed strategies to address emerging security concerns, particularly in areas affected by militancy and cross-border threats.
The Speaker Swati announced that the next meeting of the Special Security Committee will be held in the coming days to accelerate efforts toward ensuring peace and stability in the province.

He further focused on the provincial government’s commitment to protecting citizens’ rights, promoting inter-institutional harmony, and strengthening a sense of security among the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
