KOHLU: Development projects across Kohlu district are being accelerated on the directives of Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Nawab Chengiz Marri, aiming to ensure public welfare and provide essential facilities to the people.

In a phased implementation, multiple schemes are targeting core infrastructure needs. Key focuses include improving the uninterrupted supply of electricity, installing water filtration and boring systems for clean drinking water, ensuring basic health facilities, and the sustainable construction of streets and drainage in both urban and rural areas. The primary objective is to offer a lasting solution to daily public problems and elevate living standards.

A major thrust is on connectivity, with the construction and rehabilitation of roads—including the vital Kohlu-Sibi Road—intended to provide travel convenience and stimulate local economic and commercial activities. Simultaneously, urban and rural areas in Tehsil Kohlu and Tehsil Mawand are seeing environmental improvements through the installation of tuff tiles and reconstruction of drainage systems to enhance cleanliness.

MPA Marri has emphasized concrete steps to guarantee transparency, quality, and the timely completion of all projects. Clear instructions have been issued to relevant departments to adhere strictly to prescribed standards, with no tolerance for negligence.

Local citizens have welcomed the initiatives, praising MPA Marri’s people-friendly policies. They expressed gratitude for the “positive process” of addressing basic problems on a priority basis. Officials state that the fruits of these development projects are expected to soon reach the people, contributing to overall development and public welfare in the district.

Meanwhile a critical week-long polio vaccination campaign is set to launch across Balochistan on Monday, December 15, 2025, aiming to protect over 2.66 million children under five years old.

Inam-ul-Haq, Coordinator of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Balochistan, announced the drive, warning that the poliovirus remains present in the province’s environment, posing a constant threat of lifelong paralysis to unprotected children. He stressed the campaign’s urgency in building population immunity and eliminating the virus.
