ISLAMABAD: The Government of Balochistan is preparing to officially launch the “Kisan Card” to support farmers across the province.
According to Masood Ahmed Baloch, Director General of Agricultural Extension, the registration process for obtaining the card is currently ongoing at the offices of the Agriculture Extension Department.
He urged all farmers and landowners to register themselves without delay, as only registered individuals will be eligible to receive the Kisan Card.
During a high-level meeting held to review the progress of the Kisan Card project, officials from various wings of the Agriculture Department—including Agriculture Research, Agricultural Engineering, Adaptive Research, Floriculture, Plant Protection, and the Directorate of Information—were in attendance.
Representatives from the technology partner, Ultra Soft, also presented a report on the digital rollout of the card.
Masood Ahmed Baloch highlighted that under the leadership of Provincial Agriculture Minister Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, the department has expedited work on this initiative.
He emphasized that agricultural officers and staff must ensure the timely and effective dissemination of modern agricultural information to farmers.
Any negligence or delay in this regard will not be tolerated.
The Kisan Card aims to address the financial challenges of farmers by providing easy access to government incentives, agricultural subsidies, and bank loans.
Through this card, registered farmers will be able to receive direct benefits at home, including assistance in tubewell construction, quality seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and technical insights from agricultural engineering teams.
