KILLA SHAFIULLAH: Cross-border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan escalated further on Saturday Night, as fresh clashes were reported in the Killa Saifullah sector along the Kandahar-Balochistan border, while a heavy missile struck in North Waziristan.
According to security sources, clashes between Pakistani and Afghan forces have erupted in the Killa Saifullah sector, which borders Afghanistan’s Kandahar province and Pakistan’s Balochistan region. Security sources confirmed that Pakistan Armed forces are continuing their powerful response, forcing Taliban soldiers to retreat from frontline positions in the area.
The clashes mark an expansion of the conflict zone, with fighting now reported in yet another sector along the porous and disputed border.
Missile Strike in North Waziristan
In a separate but related development, a missile was fired at Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district. Police officials reported that the missile, which weighed more than 200 kilograms, exploded in an open space, causing a massive explosion that reverberated across the area.
Fortunately, no immediate reports of casualties have been made, as the missile struck an open area rather than directly hitting the installation. Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the origin of the missile.
Pakistan’s military response to cross-border aggression from Afghan Taliban forces. Earlier official updates confirmed that Pakistani forces have destroyed multiple Taliban posts and killed over 133 operatives since the operation began.
Security officials have reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain on high alert and are prepared to respond decisively to any further aggression.
