Khuzdar faces education crisis as schools close due to lack of teachers

KHUZDAR: Several schools were closed as Khuzdar is facing an alarming education crisis due to severe shortage of teachers across the district. has resulted in the closure of numerous schools across the district. This situation has left hundreds of children deprived of formal education, especially in remote rural areas.

According to local media reports, only about 35% of children in the district are currently attending school. Many students, particularly those living in distant villages such as Wadh, Sarona, Kanjr Mari, Shah Noorani, Nach, Zahri, Nal, Mola Karkh, and Baghbana, face extreme difficulties accessing education due to the lack of teaching staff and deteriorating school infrastructure. Numerous school buildings have fallen into disrepair, further discouraging attendance.

This growing educational neglect has forced many students to abandon schooling altogether, marking a tragic setback for the district’s future.

The residents of Khuzdar and activists have called on the provincial government, including Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Education Minister Raheela Hamid Durrani, to urgently address the crisis by filling vacant teaching positions and reopening closed schools. They emphasize that temporary teacher hires should be replaced with permanent appointments to ensure consistent and quality education.
