KHUZDAR: In a major disciplinary action, Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Sir Iqbal Dashti, has demoted two Levies Force officers for criminal negligence and alleged links with smugglers.
The action was taken against Naib Risaldars Ghulam Haider and Mukhtiar Ahmed, who were found guilty of poor investigation, misuse of authority, and benefiting accused persons in drug smuggling cases. The demotion reduces them to the rank of Sepoy (constable).
Additionally, they have been placed last in the seniority list, banned from promotion for five years, and made ineligible for any new posting during this period. The decision came after a court acquitted suspects in important drug cases due to the officers’ flawed investigations. An inquiry revealed they were in cahoots with criminals and deliberately weakened evidence.
