ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has rejected the Indian Air Chief claims regarding downing of Pakistani aircraft during Pak-India standoff in May this year.
Khawaja Asif issued a statement on Saturday, Defence Minister said that the delayed assertions made by the Indian Air Chief were unrealistic and baseless, adding that Indian military officials are being brought to divert attention from the failures caused by the short-sightedness of Indian PM Modi.
It is strange that the claims had emerged from India after three months and that too without any proof or evidence, Asif said.
He further said that Pakistan provided the international media with immediate and detailed technical briefings over the issue, adding that neutral sources confirmed the downing of multiple Indian aircrafts, including Rafales.
Defence Minister informed that evidence includes references from global leaders, senior Indian politicians, and foreign intelligence reports. Not a single Pakistani aircraft was hit or destroyed in the Indian assault.
Khawaja Asif further said that Pakistan successfully downed six Indian fighter jets, destroyed the S-400 air defence system and neutralised several Indian airbases.
Minister said that wars can not be won through lies, it needed moral superiority, national resolve and professional excellence.
