Kech officials inspect stadiums ahead of major district sports festival

KECH: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Kech, alongside Vice Chairman of the Kech Sports & Fitness Festival Committee Tabish Baloch, conducted a detailed inspection of major sports venues on Sunday in preparation for the district’s upcoming multi-sport event.

The officials were accompanied by Festival Committee Secretary Altaaz Sakhi, sports managers, and members Umar Hot, Siraj Sher Joski, Zarif Rind, and Abdul Rahim. The team toured cricket, football, and volleyball stadiums to evaluate existing facilities, identify shortcomings, and review administrative and logistical requirements for the large-scale gathering.

On-site sports managers provided comprehensive briefings to the committee on current ground conditions, necessary enhancements, and urgent needs to ensure the successful hosting of the competitions. Following the extensive inspection, officials confirmed that a detailed report compiling all findings and recommendations will be formally submitted to Deputy Commissioner Kech Bashir Ahmed Baddich for approval and necessary action.

Scheduled to run from January 5 to January 16, 2025, the Kech Sports and Fitness Festival will feature a diverse array of athletic competitions. Committee members stated that the core objective of the festival is to actively engage the district’s youth, revitalize the local sporting culture, and provide constructive recreational opportunities across the community. The inspection marks a critical step in the final preparatory phase for the twelve-day event.

Meanwhile under the chairmanship of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, the 20th meeting of the provincial cabinet was held on Friday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

During the session, several important decisions were approved regarding climate change, urban transport facilities, financial reforms, the establishment of the Bank of Balochistan, improvement of administrative structure, education, environmental protection, and public welfare.

At the start of the meeting, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti congratulated Field Marshal General Asim Munir on assuming the responsibilities of Chief of Defence Forces.
