ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the Kashmir dispute, terrorism, and water will be key topics in the expected talks between Pakistan and India.
Speaking to Geo News, Asif listed the three main issues for discussion: Kashmir, terrorism, and water.
He said terrorism has troubled Pakistan for 20 to 30 years and remains a major threat. He stressed that Pakistan is the biggest victim of terrorism and urged serious talks on the matter.
Asif called the Kashmir dispute a golden chance to ease long-standing tensions. He said both nations must seize this opportunity.
He also referred to US President Donald Trump’s recent comments on Kashmir. Trump had called for the issue to be part of talks between the two countries.
Asif criticised the global narrative that links Pakistan with terrorism. He said it is ironic that the country most hurt by terrorism gets blamed for it.
