Kalat administration destroys 32 acres of illegal Cannabis in major raid

QUETTA: The district administration of Kalat has carried out a large-scale operation against illegal cannabis cultivation in the Manguchar sub-division, destroying more than 32 acres of crops in various areas including Zard Ghulam Jan and Zard Abdullah.

The operation was launched on the special directives of Commissioner Kalat Division Tufail Baloch and Deputy Commissioner Kalat Captain (R) Jameel Baloch.

In this regard, the operation was conducted with the support of security and law enforcement agencies.

In this sense, among the participants were Major Muaz of FC 64 Wing, representatives from 329 Brigade, Excise and Taxation Officer Asif Qalandrani, Excise Inspector Mehmood Lango, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) official Amir Shehzad, SHO Levies Police Station Manguchar Haji Khan Lehri, Dafadar Imam Bakhsh, along with other officers and personnel.

Meanwhile, the teams used a combination of mechanical and chemical spraying methods, as well as traditional techniques, ensuring the complete destruction of the cannabis spread across more than 32 acres of land.

He focused on the fact that protecting the youth from the menace of drugs and ensuring a narcotics-free Kalat district remained the administration’s top priority.

“The fight against narcotics is not limited to government institutions alone,” the Deputy Commissioner noted. “Public cooperation is vital in eliminating this menace. A healthy and safe society can only be achieved if communities join hands with the administration in this effort.”

In addition, the district administration also appealed to citizens to play their role in identifying and reporting drug-related activities in their areas.\

This latest operation mentions the government’s resolve to intensify its crackdown on narcotics cultivation and trafficking, sending a strong message that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
