Court Orders K-Electric to pay Rs 50.6M for electrocution deaths

KARACHI: In Karachi, a court has ordered K-Electric to pay Rs 50.6 million (5 crore 6 lakh rupees) in compensation to the heirs of a father and son who died due to electrocution during rainfall.

The case was heard in the court of the Senior Civil Judge South against K-Electric.

The court directed K-Electric to deposit the compensation amount with the court nazir within 30 days.

It further ordered that the nazir should disburse the amount to the legal heirs of the deceased and inform the court accordingly.
