QUETTA: Justice Rozi Khan Barrech is likely to be appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court.

The appointment will follow the retirement of Chief Justice Muhammad Ejaz Swati, who reaches the mandatory retirement age of 62 on June 5, 2025.

According to reports, the Ministry has recommended that the Prime Minister advise the President of Pakistan to appoint Justice Rozi Khan Barrech as Acting Chief Justice from June 6, 2025, until a regular Chief Justice is appointed by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan.

While this development points toward a new phase in the legal leadership of Balochistan, it is important to note that the appointment has not yet been officially confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office, the Presidency, or the Balochistan High Court.
