QUETTA: Maulana Abdul Wasi, the Balochistan Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and a senator, has asserted that his party’s vision for a “prosperous, peaceful and developed Balochistan” is a longstanding principle, not a temporary electoral slogan.
Addressing the public in a statement on Sunday, Senator Wasi outlined the party’s core philosophy, framing it around public service, constitutional supremacy, and the unwavering protection of provincial rights. He stated the JUI-F has historically fulfilled this vision through “sincerity, political insight and practical struggle,” promising to continue this “national and religious duty” with perseverance and independence.
The senator positioned the JUI-F as the province’s sole consistent and principled political force. “Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is the only political party that has never considered the people of Balochistan as a mere vote bank,” he claimed, arguing it has instead made the populace its central focus. He highlighted the party’s struggle to protect the province’s “rights, resources and identity” at every forum.
Wasi credited the party’s “unconditional support and trust” across Balochistan’s diverse ethnic and linguistic communities to its repeated willingness to take a principled stand. He stated the JUI-F has prioritized public welfare and provincial interests over “personal and party interests,” resisting pressure and compromise.
Furthermore, he emphasized the party’s comprehensive approach, asserting it gives equal importance to issues faced by people in urban and rural areas, mountains and plains, and remote regions alike. The solution to public problems, redressal of deprivation, and fair resource distribution, he concluded, remain the central axis of JUI-F’s politics in Balochistan.
