BANNU: Eight militants associated with India proxy Fitna al Khawrij were killed and two injured in a joint operation by the Pakistan Army and Bannu Police near the Kashu Check Post, local authorities confirmed. Six bodies were recovered during clearance of a compound.
The operation followed a militant attack on a CTD and police patrol near Hilal Chowk, Domail, Bannu, on November 21. Security forces encircled the attackers in a BUA compound. Reinforcements from security forces and local police engaged in a heavy firefight.
One militant was confirmed killed after firing on a police route protection party. Two others attempted to flee; one was killed, and another injured. A soldier was also injured and taken to CMH Bannu in stable condition.
During the operation, security forces recovered a wide range of militant equipment and personal items, including: firearms (M-4 rifles, SMGs), ammunition, tactical gear, personal IDs and documents, mobile devices, cash, and items linking two militants to UAE nationals named Saqib Noor and Yasir Ullah.
The operation concluded on November 22, with forces returning to Bannu garrison. Faulty MRAP vehicles and remaining equipment will be collected the following day. Dead bodies were handed over to authorities for identification.
