QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited the homes of police officers, personnel and civilians killed in recent terrorist attacks, prompting a strong retaliatory response from security forces and other law enforcement agencies.
Meetings were held with the families of the victims. Condolences were offered and prayers were recited. Separate meetings were held with the children of the fallen officers, where support and reassurance were expressed.
It was said that the Balochistan government would not abandon the families of the martyrs under any circumstances.
Immediate financial assistance will be provided to families of police martyrs under existing policy, the chief minister announced. Two government jobs will also be given to each affected family. One post will be offered in the police department, while the second will be provided in another government department.
Orders were issued to name Sariab Police Station after martyred Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahmood Rehman.
All educational expenses of the martyrs’ children will be borne by the provincial government, it was said. Financial assistance of 5.5 million rupees will also be provided for house construction, along with other resources as required.
The chief minister said the government and the people of Balochistan were indebted to the martyrs and that families of the fallen and injured personnel would never be left without support.
It was stated that attempts to destabilize Balochistan, allegedly backed by India, would fail. Those responsible for the bloodshed would be held accountable and terrorists would be brought to justice.

Progress was reported in investigations into the January 31 attacks. Investigation teams were said to be working around the clock to ensure those responsible are presented before the law.
It is pertinent to mention here that the India-backed group Fitna al Hindustan carried out attacks at 12 locations across eight districts of Balochistan, prompting a strong retaliatory response from security forces and other law enforcement agencies. More than 216 BLA terrorists were killed in the counterterrorism operations named as Operation Raadul Fitna.
