Jaffarabad DC reviews progress on GOR Housing Project

DERA ALLAH YAR: Deputy Commissioner Jaffarabad, Khalid Khan, inspected the development work on the Government Officers Residence (GOR) housing project in Dera Allah Yar, focusing on whether the initiative will help resolve long-standing residential challenges faced by government officials.

Furthermore, the DC noted that despite resistance from land-grabbers and the matter being taken to the High Court, the project has moved forward after receiving a favorable court decision.

He said the judicial approval provided “a green signal” for construction to begin, paving the way for the long-delayed project to take shape.

In this regard, the Executive Engineer Atiq-ur-Rehman, the scheme is part of an umbrella initiative under which similar housing projects are being developed at ten different locations across the province.

He explained that the GOR in Dera Allah Yar covers an area of five acres and includes a boundary wall along with residential bungalows for government officers.

The project, he added, aims to eliminate the accommodation issues that often hinder administrative efficiency.

Moreover, the government representatives believe the new facility will play an important role in supporting government operations by ensuring that officers have access to adequate and secure housing.

The construction of the boundary wall and residential units is expected to provide a long-term solution to the shortage of official accommodation in the district.

Moreover, DC Khalid Khan directed the concerned departments to ensure that the project is completed swiftly and transparently.

He stressed that all work should strictly adhere to the standards outlined in the PC-1 to maintain quality and accountability.

Meanwhile, the government representatives involved in the project expressed confidence that, once finished, the GOR housing complex will significantly contribute to improving the working environment for government personnel stationed in Jaffarabad.

The district administration confirmed its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted progress on the project despite past challenges, focusing on that the initiative indicates the government’s broader efforts to expand and modernize residential facilities for its employees across the province.
