Issue of Blocked CNICs in Balochistan and KP raised in Senate

ISLAMABAD: The Issue of blocked ID cards came to limelight in the Senate of Pakistan.

The central leader and law expert Senator Kamran Murtaza of JUI (F) raised the issue of Blocked CNICs in Baluchistan and KP.

He stressed that as many as 285245 CNICs of KP’s citizens and 21639 CNICs of Baluchistan were blocked.

The numbers are astonishingly low in Sindh and Punjab.

He went on to say that the way these numbers are kept on the higher side, the funds should also be raised for the development of the both provinces.

The minister of state Talal Chaudhary, answered the point of order by saying that the number of Afghan national residing in Baluchistan is larger than those living in Punjab and Sindh.

He further said that the same citizens deny being Pakistanis in countries like Saudi Arabia.

He said that a few people included foreign citizens in their family trees for their personal gains.

This is the reason of higher numbers of blocked CNICs in both KP and Baluchistan.

No such move was encouraged on the basis of ethnicity of provincialism but all such decisions were made in Pakistan’s national interest.
