The incident occurred at the National Stadium Karachi during a practice session ahead of the Pakistan Super League. Batter Mark Chapman played a shot that struck fielder Hamza Sajjad on the back of the neck.

The impact caused Sajjad to collapse on the ground, triggering panic in the camp as teammates rushed to his aid. Medical staff responded immediately and transported him to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

Islamabad United called off the practice session following the incident, citing the seriousness of the situation.
