ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has issued formal guidelines for international media representatives arriving to cover high-level talks in Islamabad, officials said.
According to the Ministry of Information, journalists from the United States and Iran will be provided visa-on-arrival facilities at Islamabad International Airport.
Strict protocols have been imposed on media movement, security, and coverage during the talks.
Guidelines issued by the External Publicity Wing of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated that media personnel will be allowed to move only through an official shuttle service during coverage of the Islamabad talks.
Entry into the Red Zone, filming, and the use of drones have been completely restricted.
Under the arrangements, an assembly point has been established at the Movenpick Hotel Centaurus, while a central media centre has been set up at the Jinnah Convention Centre to facilitate coverage.
Access will be granted only through official media passes, the guidelines said.
Journalists have been advised to avoid unnecessary movement due to security concerns and to rely solely on official sources for information.
Foreign media representatives will be required to arrange their own accommodation and inform the relevant authorities.
