ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss the evolving regional situation and matters of mutual interest, with both sides emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
During the conversation, Foreign Minister Araghchi expressed serious concern over recent developments in the Middle East, particularly reported ceasefire violations in Lebanon and actions by Israel that could potentially escalate tensions in parts of Beirut.
He underlined the need for urgent diplomatic efforts to prevent further deterioration of the security environment and to preserve the fragile ceasefire arrangements currently in place.
The Iranian foreign minister also acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive and balanced role in regional diplomacy.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability. He conveyed Pakistan’s serious concern regarding the recent developments and stressed the importance of ensuring that the ceasefire remains intact.
He noted that preserving the existing understandings between the concerned parties is essential to preventing further escalation and safeguarding regional security.
