Ishaq Dar, Wang Yi discuss regional situation in phone call

ISLAMABAD :  Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving situation in the region and reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation for peace and stability.

 

According to an official statement, Dar emphasized that negotiations and diplomacy remain the only effective means for the peaceful resolution of global disputes. He briefed his Chinese counterpart on Pakistan’s continuous diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions.

 

Dar highlighted that Pakistan’s facilitation of talks between Iran and the United States reflects the country’s principled stance on promoting dialogue and peaceful engagement.

 

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed that Iran welcomes the commencement of US-Iran peace talks and called on the international community to encourage both sides to return to the negotiating table. He also appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in de-escalating tensions and voiced China’s full support for Pakistan’s facilitation efforts.

 

The two countries agreed to maintain close coordination for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond, while reiterating their commitment to enhancing communication and cooperation at multilateral forums, including the United

Nations.
