DHAKA: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Dhaka on Saturday for a two-day official visit, the Foreign Office said.
High Commissioner Imran Haider and senior Bangladeshi officials received him at the airport.
This marks the first visit by a Pakistani foreign minister to Bangladesh in 13 years.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said Dar will hold key meetings with Bangladeshi leaders during the visit. Senior officials from Pakistan’s foreign ministry are accompanying him.
The Foreign Office described the trip as a significant milestone in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations. The visit comes at the invitation of the Bangladeshi government.
Dar will meet Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and hold talks with Adviser on Foreign Affairs Muhammad Touhid Hossain.

Officials said the meetings will cover the full range of bilateral ties along with regional and international issues.
