TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari has issued a sarcastic message in English aimed at United States President Donald Trump.
The statement, notable for its tone and choice of language, indicates the continuing rhetorical tensions between Tehran and Washington.
Zolfaghari stated, “Hey Trump, you’re fired. You are familiar with this sentence. Thank you for your attention to this matter.” The comment appears to reference Trump’s well-known catchphrase, “You’re fired,” popularized during his television career, while simultaneously turning it into a political jab.
The message has been interpreted by analysts as both a symbolic and psychological gesture. The statement may represent what has been described as a “polar psychological attack,” aimed at exposing perceived vulnerabilities in the unipolar global order historically dominated by the United States.
In this regard, the development has also created debate regarding its intent. Some view it as a lighthearted yet strategic rhetorical move, while others interpret it as a bold political challenge directed at Washington.
This is not the first time Iranian officials have responded strongly to US rhetoric. Zolfaghari focused on that decisions regarding conflict are not made on social media but determined on the battlefield.
He also criticized a reported US military operation name, suggesting it should be called “Epic Fear” rather than “Epic Fury.”
