Tehran: Iran’s former Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani has warned that any U.S. military action against Iran would be treated as the start of full-scale war.
In a message posted on his X account, Shamkhani stated that Iran would respond immediately, comprehensively, and unprecedentedly to any American attack, explicitly including strikes on Tel Aviv.
Rejecting the notion of a “limited” military strike, he declared: “The idea of a limited attack is an illusion.
Any military action by the United States, at any location and at any level—will be considered the beginning of war.
The response will be swift, total, and unparalleled, targeting the heart of Tel Aviv and all supporters of the aggressor.”
The statement came in response to recent threats by U.S. President Donald Trump and the deployment of additional American forces in the Middle East.
Trump had posted on social media the previous day, announcing that a very large naval fleet, led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and larger than the one sent to Venezuela was heading toward Iran.
He emphasized that, like the Venezuela mission, this force was fully capable of accomplishing its objectives swiftly through power and violence if necessary.
Trump added that he hoped Iran would soon return to the negotiating table for fair and equitable talks, aiming for an agreement with no nuclear weapons that benefits all parties.
