TEHRAN: Iran has issued a stark warning to the United States and Israel, declaring that any further aggression or escalation of war will turn the entire region into “hell” for its adversaries. The threat comes amid rising tensions following a 48-hour ultimatum from former US President Donald Trump.
Ibrahim Zolfaqari, spokesman for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said in clear terms that continued aggression would be met with a severe reaction across the region. “The idea of defeating Iran has now turned into a quagmire in which the opponents themselves will sink,” Zolfaqari stated.
Ali Abdullahi, commander of the same headquarters, issued an even more forceful warning. “In the event of aggression, the gates of hell will be opened for the US and Israel,” Abdullahi said.
The Iranian statements come in direct response to a recent warning by Donald Trump. The former US president reportedly gave Iran 48 hours to either reach a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz — a vital global oil shipping route — warning that failure to do so would result in an “apocalypse” for the Islamic Republic.
As of now, Tehran has shown no indication of backing down, with military officials doubling down on their threat of a region-wide conflagration. The Strait of Hormuz remains a flashpoint, and international observers are closely monitoring the next 48 hours for any signs of confrontation.
