Iran rejects Trump’s threats, warns of strong response to any US aggression

TEHRAN: Iran’s top military leadership has strongly dismissed recent threats issued by the United States President Donald Trump, describing them as baseless and detached from reality.

The statement asserted that the United States has faced repeated setbacks and embarrassment in the Middle East, suggesting that the use of aggressive rhetoric is an attempt to divert attention from those failures.

As per the statement, the increasing intensity of hostile language from the United States indicates underlying weakness rather than strength. Military leaders reiterated that Iran remains firm in its policies and will not alter its course under threats or external pressure.

“Iran’s policies are rooted in national sovereignty and regional stability, and no amount of intimidation will force a change in our stance,” the statement noted.

The Iranian leadership also issued a clear warning, stating that any form of military action or aggression by the United States would be met with a decisive and strong response.

Furthermore, Tehran focused on that responsibility for any potential escalation would lie entirely with Washington. Iranian authorities urged restraint, while maintaining that the country is fully prepared to defend its interests.

The development comes amid heightened tensions following statements by Donald Trump, who reportedly set a strict deadline for Iran to comply with demands related to reopening the Strait of Hormuz and agreeing to a new deal.

Trump also warned that failure to meet the deadline could result in targeted strikes on Iran’s energy facilities and critical infrastructure.

The situation has raised concerns among international observers about the possibility of increased instability in the Middle East. Analysts note that both sides have adopted firm positions, leaving limited room for immediate diplomatic resolution.
