Tehran: The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghaei, has cautioned that any escalation in tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan would have direct consequences for Iran, citing Tehran’s shared borders with both neighboring countries.
Speaking at a press briefing, Baghaei said that all Afghanistan-related matters would be discussed during the fourth regional meeting on Afghanistan, highlighting Iran’s commitment to inclusive and comprehensive regional dialogue.
Commenting on the Taliban-led Islamic Emirate’s decision not to participate in the meeting, Baghaei stated that Iran respects Kabul’s choice.
However, he stressed that the presence of the Islamic Emirate at such regional forums could help strengthen mutual understanding and contribute to resolving issues between Afghanistan and its neighboring states.
His remarks come at a time when regional countries are continuing consultations to address the security, political, and economic challenges linked to ongoing developments in Afghanistan.
It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan has a clear stance the the Afghanistan has to take necessary measures against the militants who attack the security personnel, innocent civilians and the development infrastructure in Balochistan and KP.
However, the Afghan government turns down Pakistan’s demand calling it an internal security laps of Pakistan.
The militants have launched thousands of attacks in KP and Balochistan killing numrous innocent persons.
The security forces have launched operations in the KP and Balochistan area for the past many areas.
Thousands of militants with Afghan nationality have been killed or captured during these operations.
These militants have also confessed after their arrest that they have been trained and funded in Afghanistan by the Indian and the Afghan intelligence agencies.
They also confessed that they were instructed by the Taliban Regime to attack the Pakistani security forces in the name of Jehad.
