Iran has announced that it will allow humanitarian aid ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, a move aimed at facilitating relief efforts in crisis-affected regions.
The decision has been formally agreed upon, according to Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, signaling a step forward in addressing urgent humanitarian needs.
The Iranian envoy stated that the arrangement has been reached to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted flow of aid to vulnerable populations. He emphasized that the initiative is grounded in humanitarian considerations and reflects a commitment to supporting those impacted by ongoing crises.
Iranian authorities have assured that vessels carrying relief supplies will be provided safe passage through the strategically important waterway.
In this sense, there has also been agreement on accelerating the movement of aid shipments. This is intended to ensure that essential supplies, including food, medical assistance, and other relief materials, reach those in need as quickly as possible.
The envoy mentioned that timely delivery remains a key priority under the new arrangement.
He further clarified that the primary objective of this decision is to guarantee unhindered access for humanitarian assistance. Close coordination with the United Nations is being maintained to finalize all operational aspects and to ensure that international standards and protocols are followed throughout the process.
