Iran’s senior security official Ali Larijani has delivered a strong message to Muslim countries, urging them to clearly determine their stance in what he described as an ongoing struggle between Iran and what he called hostile forces led by the United States and Israel.
Larijani said Iran remains firm in its resistance against pressure and actions by Washington and Tel Aviv.
He focused on that the broader Muslim world must decide where it stands in the current geopolitical environment.
Larijani expressed disappointment over what he described as limited support from Muslim-majority nations when Iran faced military threats. Iran had expected stronger solidarity from countries that share religious and regional ties.
“When Iran came under attack, it was regrettable that we did not see sufficient backing from many Muslim countries,” he said. “It should not be expected that Iran would stand silently with folded hands in the face of aggression.”
The Iranian official argued that the current global political confrontation has effectively formed two sides. He claimed that the United States and Israel stand together on one side, while Iran and what he called “resistance forces” are positioned on the other.
“In today’s real conflict, the United States and Israel are on one side, and Iran and the forces of resistance are on the other,” Larijani stated. “Therefore, the question arises: which side will the Muslim world choose?”
Larijani stressed that Iran does not seek regional dominance. Instead, he said Tehran’s objective is to see greater unity among Muslim nations and stronger cooperation within the Muslim world.
He also warned Muslim countries not to rely on the United States and Israel, claiming that those powers do not act as reliable allies in the region. The policies of both countries have historically conflicted with the interests of Muslim nations.
Larijani further alleged that the United States and Israel carried out hostile actions against Iran during a period when diplomatic negotiations were underway.
He said that despite these challenges, Iran’s determination and resilience have strengthened its position.
“The resolve of the Iranian people has made the enemy appear helpless,” he said, adding that Iran remains committed to defending its sovereignty and strategic interests.
