Iran confirms martyrdom of security chief Ali Larijani

TEHRAN : Iranian media has officially confirmed the martyrdom of National Security Secretary Ali Larijani, following earlier claims by Israel regarding his death in an attack.

The confirmation comes shortly after the Revolutionary Guards announced the martyrdom of Basij Force commander Gholam Reza Soleimani. In a statement following Soleimani’s death, the Revolutionary Guards asserted that they “would never give up their desire to avenge blood.”

Israel had previously claimed responsibility for the attack that killed both Larijani and Soleimani. With the latest confirmation from Iranian media, Tehran has now officially acknowledged the loss of both senior leaders.

In response to the developments, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi gave an interview to an Arab television network, emphasizing the resilience of the Islamic Republic’s political structure.

“The system cannot be shaken by the martyrdom of individual leaders,” Araqchi stated. “This is a system that is based on institutions. The most important person is the Supreme Leader. Even despite the martyrdom of our Supreme Leader, the system did not change.”

His remarks appeared aimed at reassuring both domestic audiences and regional observers that the loss of key security figures would not destabilize the country’s governance framework.
