TEHRAN: The Iranian Revolutionary Guards have claimed to have shot down two US fighter jets, including an F-18, in Iranian airspace.
Russian media released a video showing the Revolutionary Guards targeting the American aircraft.
Earlier, an F-35 fighter jet was also reportedly targeted, and recent US media reports stated that at least 16 US aircraft have been damaged in conflicts involving Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran has warned of opening a new front at the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
Iranian military sources told news agencies that if attacks on Iranian territories continue, a new front could emerge near Bab el-Mandeb, a strategic waterway near Yemen connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden.
