Investigation launched against former QDA director

QUETTA: On the directives of Balochistan’s Director General Anti-Corruption, Abdul Waheed Kakar, a major investigation has been initiated against Zahid Hussain Bugti, former Director of Town Planning at Quetta Development Authority (QDA), over the allotment of 26 bogus plots.

According to Express News, the inquiry is being led by Deputy Director Sheikh Munir Ahmed and Investigation Officer Shah Muhammad Mandokhail.

Zahid Hussain faces charges of fraud, abuse of authority, and tampering with records related to the Hazarganji Complex.

A formal case has already been registered against him.

Anti-Corruption officials revealed that Zahid Hussain exploited his position to illegally allot government land, causing both financial losses and administrative irregularities.

The missing maps of the Hazarganji Complex are now the focus of a special recovery operation launched by the investigation team.

Raids are being carried out in different cities in an effort to arrest him.

Investigators suspect that Zahid Hussain was part of an organized corruption network, which may lead to further arrests as the probe progresses.

A senior official noted that high-ranking figures could be involved in the disappearance of the records, and their recovery might expose major revelations.

In line with this, Anti-Corruption has begun preparing action against other suspected individuals as well.

Meanwhile, the provincial government has declared the case a crucial step in the fight against corruption and appealed to the public for cooperation.
