ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a vital and welcome initiative aimed at facilitating Pakistani passengers traveling abroad, introducing a Pre-Departure Facilitation Desk operated by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The new service will allow travelers to obtain prior guidance and clearance before departing the country, helping to address common immigration-related challenges.
In this regard, the initiative has been implemented with immediate effect to ensure that passengers can complete essential document verification and receive accurate information well in advance of their journeys.
The primary objective of the facility is to reduce difficulties faced by travelers during immigration and clearance processes, making international travel more convenient, secure, and well-organized.
Furthermore, Mohsin Naqvi stated that the introduction of the Pre-Departure Facilitation Desk is expected to significantly reduce unnecessary delays, congestion, and confusion at airports and border points.
The initiative aims to improve the overall travel experience for passengers and enhance operational efficiency at immigration counters.
The interior minister informed the public that the Pre-Departure Facilitation Desk will be available at all FIA zonal offices, international airports, and border crossing points across the country.
This nationwide coverage is intended to ensure equal access for travelers from all regions. Moreover, the minister emphasized that the initiative will benefit not only outbound passengers but also FIA personnel, as early resolution of concerns will streamline workflows and reduce pressure at departure points.
He noted that proactive engagement with travelers would help minimize last-minute complications and improve service delivery. In such a case, Mohsin Naqvi further explained that passengers can access the facility through multiple channels, including telephone, email, and in-person visits.
